COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Roasted barley is the trademark of stout, a bittersweet separation from its cousin Porter. Our deep black stout is made with a grist containing 15% organic oatmeal to create its remarkable silky texture.

On tap at brewpub. Deep brown in color with a nice thick tan head. Roasty, malty hoppy aroma. Chocolatety, caramel notes. Roasty, malty hoppy flavor. Roasty, coffee like flavor. Full bodied. Creamy and smooth. Rich. Enjoyable.

wunderbier (1434) - Tampere, FINLAND - APR 18, 2005
Pitch black hue with a tan, creamy head. Chocolate, coffee, oats, dust in the aroma. Moderate to heavily sweet flavor becomes a moderately sweet, lightly bitter finish. Medium body, watery texture, soft carbonation. The bottom line is: smooth, but this would be better without the "nitro kill".

On nitro at Pub. Pitch black, smooth creamy head but fades. Lots of roasted barley with hints of chocolate and nuttiness. Fairly sweet with some oil-like quilities similar to sam smiths- from the oatmeal. Should be labelled an oatmeal stout due to the 15% organic oatmeal used in the mash.

Probiere (992) - Iowa, USA - JAN 24, 2004
On nitro at the pub. Smooth and innocuous, creamy, like all nitros. Nose largely chocolate and roast. Tan head and good body. Sweet and roasty throughout with a clean finish and no bitter kickback. Good lacing. This would be be better off the nitro.

Smoky nose. Good roasts in the flavor, some smokiness and hints of chocolate. Smooth, needed to be a bit thicker.

Tan head, red/black body, bitter chocolate aroma. Weak bitter chocolate flavor, definitely roasted though. Mouthfeel was that of a light porter. Have Had better

(SCBE2003): Creamy big beige head atop a clear red-black body. Aroma is roasty chocolate, medium sweet. Taste is weak up front, but then turns medium sweet, light chocolate, caramel, finishing lightly roasty. Medium body, watery texture.

Smoky chocolate coffe aroma with light bitter tang. Dark black beer with pillowy cocoa tan lacing head. Creamy smooth with heavy watery body. Nice stout. Chocolate, smoke, and coffee bitters. Light bitter with big malt bitter after. Chocolate milke. A very nice stout.
