adrian910ss (966), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 14, 2008 On cask at the brewpub. Pours a dark, yet clear coppery color with almost no head. Aroma of candied sugar and light malt. Taste of malt, dark fruit and candied sugar.
acrdz (4148), Pennsylvania, USA Feb 1, 2008 Cask at the brewery. Dark amber copper colored body, mostly clear. Fuesal nose that is highly boozy and sharp. Sticky, bold, sharp on the tongue, with a weird soggy corn, gasoline and mold flavor. Brash and carelessly hopped. It’s tasting like it has English style hops, which supposed to be used much more subtly, not so aggressive as in this case. Nejhleader (772), Hummelstown, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 25, 2008 2007 a pretty strong barly wine, dark fruit type stuff at first, had almost a rum alcohol finish to it, but a good barly wine despite that. Miver (299), WillowStreet, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 29, 2007 Cask at brew pub. Poured amber in color with a small ring of beige head. Aroma is of sweet dark fruits, raisons and candy sugar. Taste is sweet, yet surprisingly drinkable. Flavors of dark fruits and sugars are the most evident. It certainly derived from a Scottish wee heavy. axilla (941), New Providence, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 9, 2007 cask at brewpub. Pours a cloudy orange/amber color with an off-white lacing. Aroma is sweet smoke, dark cherries, and subtle chocolate. Flavors start off quite sweet with mollasses and smokes peat present followed by somwhat dry oak and cherry notes and a surprising hope kick in the finish. Very enjoyable.
