3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bursting with fruit and spices, light bitterness on finish. Heavier wheat notes then your typical Belgian triple, matt, you would like this and damn it for being a triple.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at the brewpub. Reviewed from notes.
Pours a nice golden color with a large white head and a good dose of lacing as it goes down. The nose brings some pepper, spice, candied sugar, light malt, and some booze. The taste brings forward more of the spice and some light fruits. Nice mouthfeel with a touch of alcohol and spice. Not the best version of the style, but it certainly gets the job done and is a good representation.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pale straw-golden pour. No head. The nose is a little bit honeyish with a light kiss of mintiness and lean Belgian malt. Softly spicy phenolics (although the suspended yeast lends this a doughy breadiness that definitely shouldn’t be there). A little bit of banana-like fruitiness and lingering cooling minty character. Long dry spicy finish.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
In short: A basic sugary tripel. Just ok.
How: Tap at brewpub
The look: Cloudy blonde body toped by a white ring of foam
In long: Nose of typical basic triple with fruity yeast esters and sweetness. Taste has the usual fruits found in basic example of the style (bananas, pineapples, apples, etc.). But the beer was just too bare-bone, lacked hops and the candi sugar was just too apparent. Strong white sugar sensation. Nothing offensive but below average for the style. The only beer I did not enjoy at Selins Grove. I think I’m gonna on and assume that this beer was just a glitch in The Matrix.

tap @ Selins Grove - hazy yellow pour. arouma is a touch of citrus. taste is a caramel malts, citrus, cinnamon and ester cloves spice. Tingly mouthfeel. Hop bitterness clings to the tongue. Something is off balance on this one.
