Commercial Description:
A warming golden Belgian style ale, traditionally brewed by monks. Our Triple is made with Belgian candi sugar and a special Belgian yeast strain. We carefully age it to round out this beer's complex characteristics.

On tap at the Selins Grove brew pub. Poured a cloudy orange yellow with a thick long lasting white head. Aroma was spicy and malty with a good whiff of Belgian yeast and some nice subtle hints of cinnamon. Flavor was close to a perfect blend of Belgian yeastiness, sweet candi sugar and some good malt and spice. I really detected some cinnamon and cloves but they were subtle enough not to be distracting. This was a great brew pub Belgian.

Sampled on draft at the brewery this beer poured a bright golden-amber color with a trace white head. The aroma was tangy, sweet and sugary with a prominent alcohol note. The flavor was tangy, sugary and had a candied fruit element although a strong alcohol note interfered and the finish was rough. The body was thick and sugary but the alcohol really distracted.

Growler from Beerbill. Poured a hazy light orange color with a white head. Yeasty aroma with light malt underneath. Some spiciness. Malty start to the flavor with big Belgian yeast character. The finish has a mild spice to it. Medium bodied.

On draft at brewpub. Poured hazy copper in color with a frothy white head which left a nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of sweet Belgian candi sugar, bread, and fruity esters. Taste is very sweet, fruity esters, candi sugars, doughy bread, with a small dose of spices. A bit warming in the finish, but I enjoyed this triple.

Shared by beerbill, thank you. Pours glowing golden and a very rich, thick, foamy head. Looks very nice indeed. Aroma is candi sweet and an earthy-dough yeastiness. Taste is a bit too sweet (like most American Tripels). Flavor ends slightly bitter but otherwise an easy and sweet drinking beer.
Growler, Heart of Darkness thick walled tulip.

Big thanks to beerbill for sharing this - hazy golden pour, with a foamy, lasting lace (the carbonation held up really well in the growler - smells of apricot, pineapple, tangerine, honey, floral character - the flavor has a bitter herb and flower quality that does a great job balancing out the honey sweetness and light grain characteristics - the fruits from the aroma become detectable through the middle - finishes with warming alcohol and lingering bitterness - a well done tripel.

Growler filled at Selinsgrove. Pours a hazy amber gold with a moderate linen white head that faded to a ring by mid-glass. Very pleasant aroma of orange, coriander, and yeast. The flavor is very similar with orange and lemon, coriander, and yeast. Lightly sweet along with some mild bitterness at the finish. Very enjoyable.

From growler. Aroma lightly spicy (anise star? allspice? still can’t name my spices), light lemon, herbally grass. Flavor brings heavier spices and is peppery, light fruits, some red, but spices dominate. Hot (spice-wise) finish. Decent triple, just a touch too spicy for me.
