argo0 (6861), Washington DC, USA Apr 22, 2007 (growler) Cloudy wheat body with medium white head. Aroma is medium sweet, cardemom, clove, orange peel, some banana. Taste is moderately sweet, orange peel, some clove, banana cream, light alcohol. Creamy medium-full body. Rastacouere (5551), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Oct 11, 2005 Light white ring covers the very cloudy pour. High-pitched malts remind of wheat crackers and almost feels smoky in mouth. Candyish french toast sweetness, counterbalanced by a fair amount of tartish grassy hops, lemon and tannic white grapes, fresh the whole bunch of them. Light-medium bodied, biting and cleansing carbonation. Interesting take on the style, there’s one beer who must go well with a lot of meals, the pale malts have that rare feature of being almost dessert worthy in that one without the syrupiness, not unlike a crème brûlée. It kept me more very interested than it struck me with pleasure though. Thanks Kramer! MartinT (5026), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Oct 21, 2005 The Lure: Banana and pear esters fly above the mild alcohol protrusions. Wheat malt is suggested, or at least some other cereal than the typical barley. Smells like a pumped up weizen.
The Festivities: Important sweetness envelops the pear fruitiness. Yeast tingles with its creamy and sometimes chalky girth. Thick cereals blend efficiently with all surrounding flavors, but in the end it feels like a cross between a tripel and a weizen.
Transcendence: Versatility is overrated when one specific task is required. mj (4973), Colorado, USA Apr 23, 2007 Growler. Hefeweizen appearance of murky yellow body and a white head, bright and lively color. Sweet estery lemon and melon nose, spicy and creamy lemon yogurt flavor, with a creamy palate to match. Very good. DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 21, 2004 Draft at the HBF. I liked this one. Aroma of citrus, yeast, and big banana. Tastes triply, with a finish of citrus, more banana, cloves, and floral esters. Very nice style. Selin’s Grove came through with 2 great beers at the HBF. goldtwins (4078), Nesconset, New York, USA Feb 24, 2009 Growler from Beerbill. Poured a hazy light orange color with a white head. Yeasty aroma with light malt underneath. Some spiciness. Malty start to the flavor with big Belgian yeast character. The finish has a mild spice to it. Medium bodied. Sammy (3934), Toronto, Ontario, Canada May 6, 2007 A great tripel. Cloudy orange with a whisp of head. Lacey. Aroma of fruit and yeast.Medium mouthfeel. The taste-did they cut these fruits in? Unfiltered taste, apricot and then peach. A bit on the sweeter side.Aged? Yet the fruit could be a smoothie cut up an hour ago, masterful brewing by the couple. A must try, and as good as a monk in Belgium.
