Nate (2533), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 15, 2007 On tap at the brewery. Mild yeasty estery aroma. Honey, grain sweetness, light orange peel and blossom. Sweet sugary smell, too. Hazy golden amber with foamy lacing off-white head. Medium-light creamy body with light carbonation. Silky. Starts sweet with oranges and estery fruit notes. Light yeasty chalkiness. Sweet without being cloying. Very little bitterness. Good floral fruity notes at the finish. After is sweet with a chalky bitterness. Really true to style on this one.
KornDogg (171), Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 31, 2009 Draft @ brewpub. golden body with thick head... aroma of sweet fruits, flavor is also sweet, lighter taste in alcohol then other triples I’ve had, but still pretty decent vtafro (452), , New Jersey, USA Oct 29, 2009 Tap @ brewpub. Golden pour with a huge white head. Fruits and sugar fill flavor and nose but alcohol kind of killed it for me, even though its not as high as other high abv beers. Rciesla (3515), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA Oct 25, 2009 Draft at Selins Grove Brewpub. Pours a golden hazy body with a white head. Citrus, pear and juicy juice like flavor. Lighter pineapple, candied sugar notes and a mild warming. Eh i wasn’t crazy about this one. adrian910ss (1395), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 30, 2009 On draft at the brewpub. Pours a cloudy honey orange gold with a tiny white head. Aroma of peaches, mango, cloves, fruit and honey. Taste of sweet fruit, peaches, honey and cloves. Beerlando (2286), Orlando, Florida, USA Jul 21, 2009 Growler, courtesy TheCheeseMan. The pour yields a very cloudy, glowing, golden-tangerine colored body. A small, foamy, white blanket settles in quickly, leaving just a thin rim around the edge. Just a few scant spots of lacing dot the glass. The aroma is sweet, showing golden raisins and orange marmalade, with hints of lemon peel and some banana phenols. The yeast profile is doughy, with some mildly spicy floral hops coming through as well. The flavor is similar, centrering on blonde candy sugar and sweet light fruits, with citrus and banana again featured prominently. Bready, doughy yeast again plays a big role, perhaps too much of one, in fact. Mild spice emerges on the finish. The body is big and sugary, but smooth, with micro-fine carbonation. Finishes sticky. Ultimately, too sweet and yeasty for me, but it’s a decent example of one of my least favorite styles. SoLan (1369), Orlando, Florida, USA Jul 16, 2009 Courtesy ChzMan from a growler sent by kramer. Hazy yellow/gold and a bit of white carbonation. Yeast forward, strong Belgian golden. Sugary. Full body, balanced mouthfeel. Not my style, but drinkable. Beerapprentice (114), Hopatcong, New Jersey, USA Jul 1, 2009 Pours a clear yellow orange colour with a thin almost non existent white head. Aroma of peaches, mangos, guava juice, papaya. Flavour is same as the aroma but less powerful. This beer smells better than it tastes but it’s still quite good. KnN (715), Greenbelt, Maryland, USA May 3, 2009 On tap at the Selins Grove brew pub. Poured a cloudy orange yellow with a thick long lasting white head. Aroma was spicy and malty with a good whiff of Belgian yeast and some nice subtle hints of cinnamon. Flavor was close to a perfect blend of Belgian yeastiness, sweet candi sugar and some good malt and spice. I really detected some cinnamon and cloves but they were subtle enough not to be distracting. This was a great brew pub Belgian.
