| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 2, 2009 Draught at the brewpub. Pours ruby-hued brown with nice khaki head. The aroma is ashy with notes of chocolate and tobacco, some black pepper, and earth. The flavor is pepper and ash with some burnt sourness. Hints of coffee grounds pop up here and there. There’s a bit of earthy hop bitterness in the finish. Interesting interpretation, but not one I care for.
