Hand pump at Brewpub. Pours brown with an inch of khaki foam that leaves little lacing. Slight caramel note on the nose. A bit thin on the tongue. Bigger caramel on the tongue. Solid but not spectacular.

Growler, Campground Brewdown. Medium beige head that mostly disappears atop clear garnet body. Aroma is moderately sweet, coffee/roast, some honey, light cherry. Taste is moderately sweet, roast, some earthy, cherry, milk chocolate, honey. Medium body, light stickiness.

On tap at Selin’s Grove. Pours a clear cola brown with a thin white head. Sweet chocolate and roast. Nutty, roast, chocolate and cocoa. Medium bodied, smooth, very drinkable. Roasty and sweet, light bitterness into the finish.

Medium nutty brown, tan head. Nose is faint roast, chocolate & cola. Flavor is cola, nutty malt, chocolate, english hoppiness. Nice, but the molasses imparts an overwhelming cola character.

2012-08-17. Very dark brown black body with very small tan head. Flavour is pretty sweet malt, very light roast, mild dark fruity undertones. Lingering sweet fruity malt in the aftertaste. Mild notes of molasses as per the menu description if you look. 6+ Similar aroma is sweet malt, sugary mild molasses if you look, muted roast. Smooth average plus palate us very lightly carbonated. Tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear cola. Huge tan lace. Sticky. Nose is
muted with milk chocolate. Taste is big milk chocolate, raisin and walnut
bread. Bitter finish. Very nice. Some light dairy character. Similar viscosity to the stout. No roast. Still quite nice.

Draft. Pours cloudy, reddish-brown with faint off-white head; short retention and minimal lacing. Aroma is toasted malt, caramel, earthy notes, and light oak. Flavor is average toasted malt, light earthy hops, and light dark fruit esters; smooth with a hint of vanilla. Medium body, carbonation, and warmth.

Tap. Pours clear brown with a small, fizzy off-white head, short retention with light lacing. Aroma is caramel and cookie malt, some kettle caramelization, faint hops and esters with molasses notes. Flavor is malt dominant with molasses notes, light fruity esters, no hops or bitterness with a sweet finish. Light body and warmth, medium carbonation.
