3.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tap at SA, The smell was divine. Spicy, Belgian yeast, fresh malt. The flavor was off somehow and the bitterness was that Alpha Dog, harsh, industrial monster. Quite unbalanced.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle: Dark copper with a cream colored head. Yeasty notes dominate the aroma. A head on collision takes place between the hops and the yeast. Best of all, I shared it with my in-laws who usually drink Corona . . . and they liked it!

Aroma is crystal malts, honey, clove, citrus and grapefruit. Taste is light sweet malts with slight funk, clove and tanin. Slight fruitiness but quite faint. Appearance is a hazy gold with a thin pearl head that retains fairly well.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
22oz bomber from poiseneddwarf via FBW 2015. Thanks bro! Pours a clear Amber color with a finger of foamy white head. Aroma of caramel malt, sweet candied citrus, grapefruit, and the slightest hint of belgian yeast. Taste of sweet citrus, pine, caramel malt, and some booziness. Not getting a whole lot of belgian characteristics in the nose or aroma, but still pretty solid.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
22 oz. bottle, courtesy of Prufrockstar (thanks a lot, Chris), pours an opaque murky dark orangey brown with a small off-white head. Aroma brings out Belgian yeast, fruity esters, and resinous hops. Flavour is certainly a hybrid, with lots of Belgian yeast, caramel, fruity notes and resinous hops. Well-balanced, but rather sweet and yeasty. Itís well-made, but this isnít my type of IIPA.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Aromas of raisin, caramel, floral, citrus. Hazy red, mostly lasting off-white head. Fruity, subtle cocoa notes, malt-forward. Medium bodied. Very much a mixture of a Belgian dubbel and an IPA.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours hazy pale amber with two fingers of off-white tight head, excellent retention, moderate lacing (4/5). Nose is pine resin and floral hops, caramel malt, hint of musty funk (7/10). Taste is hop forward with moderate caramel sweetness, finishing bitter (7/10). Medium body, moderate to low sustained carbonation, with a lingering hoppy bitter finish (4/5).
Iím not sure that this entirely succeeds as a "Belgian IPA" - there is very little traditional Belgian yeast character here. Thereís hint of cellar mustiness on the initial pour, but other than that, the nose and tongue are very much American DIPA pine resin. Not that thatís a bad thing, you understand, but I prefer accurate labelling... Though, I guess to be fair they call it a ďbelgian style india pale aleĒ, so one might argue itís not intended to be overtly Belgian in nature. Pleasant enough regardless, and only a slight hint of booziness towards the end of the bottle.(15/20)
