Commercial Description:
Septante 5 was a beer brewed by Brasserie Terken. When the brewery has definitively closed, Brasserie Grain d'Orge has bought the brand.

In accordance with the original recipe, Septante 5 ambrée is the result of a rigourous selection in malts and hops.

Bottle (bought anywhere in Calais): Copper coloured with a mid-sized lacy off-white head; sweet-nutty nose with a light caramelly touch; robust sweet (-malty) flavour, medium bodied; sweet dark-malty finish with a light bitterness in the aftertaste. Sweet, but quite pleasant.......

(75cl bottle) Slightly hazy, amber colour with a mid-sized, slightly off-white frothy head. Sweet toast-malty, slightly (chest-)nutty nose, subtle fruity with light notes of caramel. Sweet flavour, medium bodied with an almost creamy mouthfeel. Toast-malty, subtle fruity taste, slightly nutty with notes of caramel and liquorice; almost dry toasty and nutty, sweet and slightly bitter finish. Initially a bit sweet but all in all quite rounded brew (12.03.08).

75cl bottle from Auchan. Calais. Crystal clear amber colour with lasting beige head. Toffee aroma and mild hop, slightly bleached aroma/flavour. Soft in mouth. Bit of boiled sweet throughout. Candy sugar flavour. Slightly stronger alcohol flavour, bit of whiskey maybe from the malt flavours.

Amber biere de garde with a whispy head, the aroma is nicely roatsed and hopped. Generally alcohol flavoured with a slightly off bitter finish. A below average biere de garde.
