Hazy amber color with white medium-lasting head. Aroma is more in the tropical fruits side, with mango and passion fruit, but also has citrus (orange), grassy and malty/caramely notes; can’t find the Centennial. Taste follows the aroma, with tropical and citrus fruits and a resiny and malty background, maybe too sweet for my liking. Aftertaste is bitter, but that bitterness doesn’t linger for long, with a malty background.

caesar (5316) - Bunnik/Utrecht, NETHERLANDS - NOV 28, 2014
Bottle from Bierkoning at 8.5% ABV, BB 30/08/15, large sample. Slight hazy amber color, medium off-white head. Aroma of fruity hop, citrus, grapefruit, biscuity malt, bit toffee. Soft to medium bitterness, quite sweet caramel malty, slight alcohol burn. Great balance in aroma between malt and hops. A bit too sweet and boozy in flavor though.

Bottle from trade with Doubert. Little opaque golden orange, small light brown foam head. Sweet bitter aroma, orange notes, some nuts there too. Nice bitter aroma, little sweet fruity tones, orange, mandarin. Nice. (Velp 201411)

Bosskie (455) - NETHERLANDS - NOV 9, 2014
Opaque red brown beer with nice big head. Smell is dominated by citrics, more orange than lemon. Malty warmth, some leather and hints of honey. Rotten fruit. Taste fits very well with the smell. Bitter sour sweetness, dizzy and full. Citrics and warmth. Caramel nuttiness, with a touch of raisins. Delicious, and a very surprising taste. Oily, almost toffee drop at the end. Like an ipa which evolves in the mouth into an imperial stout.

Nice sweet malty, and orangepeel hoppy aroma. Cloudy, dark yellow with tiny white head. Dry caramel butterscotch, rasins at the start. Bitter nutty hops after that and than balances out between those flavours in the aftertaste

Borresteijn (4915) - Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - NOV 9, 2014
UPDATED: NOV 28, 2014 33cl Bottle from Sterk Avondverkoop. ABV is 8.5%. I’ve been searching all over the place during my holidays in Greece to no avail, to eventually find this in a night shop in Amsterdam. Slightly hazy deep orange colour, off-white head. Aroma of oranges, blood orange, citrus, caramel, sweet malts, sticky toffee, pine. Flavour is quite sweet, sticky, sticky toffee, pine, resin, citrus, orange, firm blood orange/grapefruit bitterness with pine and resin, malts, bitter finish. Medium-bodied. It’s tasty, but I found it hard to drink. More US Barley-Wine like. This would be a nice closer after a few beers or during a tasting.

Bottle @ BeerTemple, Amsterdam. Clear orange, negligible head. Mild funky nose. Big sugar sweets up front, with hops making a late appearance. Too sugary, but good try.

Bottled. 20cl sample. The aroma is quite pibey, has grapefruit, some biscuit malts. Clear, copper coloured beer with a mdium, off-white head. The taste is moderate-max bitter, has some sweetish biscuit/toffee tones, lots of resin/pine, grapefruit. Nice clean and dry finish. Great stuff.
