Aroma: A great, chocolate-oriented smell. Lesser creamy, earthy, coffeeish aromas emerge. A very nice combination of scents that brings to my mind of chocolate mousse and baileys. Also, some minor toffee and chestnut elements. Mouthfeel: Medium body, oily and foamy texture. Still. Taste: Mmmmmmmmmmm. Highly roasted and quite bitter. Chocolate dominates on the palate. Finish: Long, bitter and toasty. A nice, gentle tartness lingers at the edges. (I think fuggles hops impart a certain orangey quality to it) Overall: Great overall. Spot-on combination of flavours and aromas.

Kauge (1324) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - APR 30, 2016
Bottle from beer-shop.gr in Athens as Saturday’s Porter. BB 05.09.2016. Pours clear brown with small light beige head. The nose is pretty sweet of chocolate and toffee, coffee, roastiness, but the portery black bread character is rather in the background. Tastes as sweet but more roasty than the aroma might lead one to believe. Some faint hoppy bitterness in finish. Dry on the palate. Body on the lighter side of medium, carbonaton fizzy. Overall a pretty decent sweetish and kinfa unexpectedly sticky porter - in hindsight seems similar to Solo’s Porter but would be fun to try these side by side. Right now I couldnt say which one I prefer.

Carbonazione media.

Taste is roasted malts, chocolate and coffee. Simple but effective. Dry finish with a slight touch of bitterness along with the roasted flavour. Medium body, good carbonation. Well balanced Porter.

Grumbo (1111) - Suffolk, ENGLAND - FEB 12, 2016
Bottle from a supermarket in Thessaloniki, Greece. As Saturday’s Porter. Pours dark brown with small but lasting milky coffee colour head. Aroma is of chocolate, toasted malt, and cherry. Fairly high level of roasting giving it quite a high bitterness, with a medium sweetness. Light/medium body, sticky texture, lively carbonation. Finish is long, with lasting toasted bitterness. Decent but lacks a bit of body and rather too fizzy.
