My Bottom Line:
Roasted coffee bean allusions and toasted bread crusts define this Stout from top to bottom, creating some interest for the watery, bloated nitroed feel.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A creamy head of foam (the wonders of nitrogen) floats atop the dark brown.
-The roasted malt bitterness is lengthy.
-There is no complexity to speak of, but if you are looking for a decent pint of Stout, this will be quite adequate.
-The aroma and finish were the two most pleasant attributes of this brew.
On tap at the north Fresno location.

On tap @ the brewpub. Black with ruby brown edges and an unimpreesive 1/4 finger beige nitro head. Lots of bitter chocolate and roasted malts.Flavor added some black patent burnt/acidic notes as well as some raisins. Burnt finish with bitterness @ a 3. Low carbonation with a light to medium body. OK.

On tap at the brewery. This dark brown ale poured with a decent tan head and a bread aroma. There is a thin palate, but a nice roasted malt background with some coffee flavor.

UPDATED: NOV 6, 2004 Draught at Sequoia Brewing Company, Fresno
Beautiful black beer served on Nitro creating a creamy tan head. Had some of my wifes at the brewery and brought home a growler. Was very sublime fresh but after slight aging in the fridge (two weeks) became intensely flavorful and aromatic with strong black coffee dominating over a slight cocoa aftertaste and finih. Damn good.
3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 flutetokill (518) - Fresno, California, USA - NOV 16, 2003
Black with red at the edges, thick tan nitro head. Very roasty aroma. Watery feel and flavor, with mild smokey hops and coffee. Mildly dry finish, but a bit slimey for a dry stout. Pretty creamy.

Black with slight ruby edges and a thick light brown nitro head. The aroma was pure coffee. The flavor was very roasted...coffee...slight bitter chocolate. Very dry finish. Flat nitro feel.
