Ungstrup (11702), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jul 28, 2003 The aroma is slightly fruity with notes of apricot and mango - not enough aroma. The color is a hazy light orange and it has a small disappearing head. The flavor starts off very sweet with some fruit notes (mango and peach), in the middle it prickles the tongue, and ends on a light bitterness - that lingers. The flavor seems a little artificial. A very special beer - worth trying - but probably not one I'll go back to. Papsoe (11073), Frederiksberg, Denmark May 3, 2005 Updated: Jun 10, 2005(Bottle 33 cl) Quite yellow, slightly hazy, with a petite, white head. I think this is an ale, even though it doesn’t say on the label. A bit of an odd beer, a little sour, high carbonation and a dry palate with yeast and a discreet bitterness. The mango might appear in the aftertaste as a vague sense of fruit. But it is very vague! Apparently this is brewed from a Tanzanian recipe and sold as an African beer at restaurants. 021103 TBone (5172), Pori, Finland Apr 9, 2006 Bottled
Hazy pale yellow, small white head. Fruity, yeasty aroma, maybe hints of mango. Light to medium bodied. Crisp, fruity, touch mango in the fruit esters. Light blond Belgium, not bad as such. Hildigöltur (5056), København Ø, Denmark Nov 17, 2002 Hard to find any mango notes in this beer. The beer smells and tastes wrong. It’s sourish and bad. madsberg (4376), Bangalore, India Oct 31, 2004 Bottled: Had this stored in the fridge for quite some time, but havn’t had the urge to try it. Friday was the day, while preparing a 4 course thai-meal for 15 persons. Poured a very pale yellow colour, that perfectly matched the green coloures of the babyaubergines i was chopping. Head was white and dense, and had a long lasting like the chiliburnt from the Tom Yung Gung soup boiling at the stove. Well the looks was the best about this beer. Aroma was bland at best. Some vague malt notes and nothing resempling mango. Flavour had vague maltnotes and some sweetness. This is a shitty beer. Had my thai-meal been like this beer, the guest would have left instantly.
