Sampler at the brewpub - Poured a nice dark reddish brown in color with a whitish head. Aroma had some spicy hops along with some carmelly malts mixed in. Flavor was a nicely balanced mix of malts and spicy hops. The best of the "flight"...

Cask version. Pours red with a white head. Smells of fresh hops, caramel, some sugar. Tastes of caramel, roses, oranges, lots of resiny piny hints. Nicely done!

Red appereance, nice aroma and head. Very smooth and tasty. Just an all around good beer.
Earlier Rating: 3/3/2007 Total Score: 3.9
Indeed very smooth, I prefer in a chilled pint glass (you need to ask for it!) Medium to low alcohol, wonderful taste. Staple beer at the brewery, I never miss an opportunity to pick up a growler when I pass by the brewery.

[from a growler that was filled in front of me] Opaque from haze, but dark reddish brown with a bubbly, beer-engine like froth (maybe lost a little carbonation...). Rich, spicy pine-toffee aroma that gets its spiciness from malt and hops, with watermelon and raisin notes. Dextrinous, but not too sweet, spicy melanoidiny malt flavour with watermelon, pine, raisin, and a balancing piney bitterness. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Very nice, but maybe slightly underattenuated.

Pas de mousse. Houblon bien présent. Houlon floral et fruité. Le malt ne tient pas la route par contre...
