4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
22 oz bomber from "Lifesource" Salem.
I have to give this a perfect "5" for appearance. deepest, darkest mahogany brown with a gorgeous dark tan head..thats rather creamy and thick..a work of art.
Great chocolaty dark coffee aromas..rosted malty goodness assaults the nasal passages!
Again nice flavour profile..dakest sweet coffee essence with a semi-bitter chocolaty base that is luxuriant.
Palate lets it down a bit..being smooth but a little too thin.
But overall a very nice porter..certainlly the best beer this brewery has produced so far IMO.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Had this on tap at Yeasty Beasty. Very black, darker even than Black Butte Porter. Nice rocky, dark tan head. This beer has a nice roasty, almost coffee like flavor. Firmly bitter, without being too much. Bordering on a little bit of an astringent taste in the finish, but not too bad. Overall, this is a pretty decent beer.

Nice, fizzy porter. Black as night with a thick tan head. Roasted, rich aromatics. The palate is dark chocolate with a contrast of creamy and bubbly texture. Long, hoppy finish.

22. Pours jet black with a towering, dense, and creamy dark tan head. Stouty. Head piles up and takes forever to settle; pouring your glass is definitely a multi-step process. Mild roasty nose with a little cocoa and chalk. Creamy medium body, could stand up to a bit more carb but then again it doesn’t suffer for not having it. Very dry and ashy mid palate, almost smoked. Tons of heavy roasted barley in this. Long dry finish. If you like ’em dark and dry, this is a solid porter for you. Fairly easy drinking, though the finish is on the acetic side.

Tall boy. Pours black with a super dark sticky head. Nose is roasted malts, coffee, citrus, and some floral and maybe a touch herbal hops. Flavor is a robust amount of black roasted malts, coffee, citrus, floral, bitter roast and hops. Nice beer. not lacking in roast malt at all. full sticky body.
