Such a pretty beer, starts with a dry dusty fragrance and mouthfeel and moves to something fruity and orangey, or like fair.

On tap at the brewpub. A very easy to drink beer. Sweet and malty with a hint of toasted flavor. Not too thin. Tasty.

Dark Orangish Amber in color clear with a thin head. Lots of caramel and light spices in this beer. Easy drinking and great finish. Nothing too complex.

Tap, thin layer of foam. Can’t smell the aromas in this bar. Complex flavors, keeping things interesting. Molasses, brown sugar, teensy bit coffe/toffe. Cereal flavor of oats. Fairly hazy appearance, muddled orange brown.

Draught @ Baileys Grill in Salem:   Dirty caramel, vibrant carbonation, moderate foamy light beige head, spotty lacing.   Soft biscuity nose, slightly mealy.   Malty tongue, very pale hop.   Not as heavy or biscuity as I would have thought, but luckily not as thin as many others in the style.   Has a decent amount of sweetness.   Its growing on me.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Finishes fairly biscuity.   At the tail end it falls flat a bit.   Not bad, didn’t have high expectations on this one but as a Marzen I found it fairly clean, flavorful up front, with a fairly clean finish.   Would have again.

On tap at Green Dragon Meet the Brewer night in Portland, OR--Brown-amber body with a minuscule swirling white head. Sweet grassy nose. Cloying, sticky, oily taste. Not my favorite Marzen, but definitely drinkable.

On tap at the PDX Green Dragon. Pours amber, very clear, with a small soft off-white head. This was more like a amber, didn’t quite get the malt depth of a good marzen. Faint caramel, fruity finish, soft hops. Didn’t have the toatsy caramel malt depth that a good marzen has.
