A ruddy amber American Strong clocking in at 7.7% abv. Grapefruit and stone fruit hop aroma and character are balanced by a rich red malt backbone. A precise blend of 7 hops go into the brewing and dry hopping process including Nelson Sauvin, Mosaic, Horizon, Palisade, Citra, Willamette, & Columbus. From Flannery O’Connor to Iron Maiden the Seventh Son of a Seventh Son is embedded in American culture as a powerful harbinger of good fortune; what better name for our flagship ale?

*Pairs well with strong flavors found in roasted meats and root vegetables and works well with Double Gloucester or other moderately aged cheeses.

Tap@WinterWarmer’16, Cleveland, USA. Medium bit bitter and sour aroma of red slightly overaged berries. Medium/strong smoother taste with overaged berries, some malts and a hint of vanilla. Medium body with medium carbonation. Overall, balanced but bit dull.

16 oz can poured a clear reddish amber with a small lasting amber head. Aromas of caramel, tangerine, pink grapefruit, peach and light tropical fruit. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of caramel, tangerine, pink grapefruit and light tropical fruit with a crisp dry lingering fruity finish.

Tall can. Pours red with a sticky, rocky off-white head. Aromas of sweet malt and resiny, piney hops. Juicy, fruity flavors--brown sugar and grape, cut grass, melon and floral tones with sugar cookie notes. Fresh and enjoyable. Light mouthfeel. Really very nice.

16 once can. Nice hoppy citrus pine body and taste. Was expecting a bigger beer with this category. I imagine American Strong as more of a big red ale. Decent.

2/20/15. Sampled during RBWG 2015. Amber pour with a small tan head, good lacing. Great aroma, mild caramel hints, loads of fresh hops - citrus, pine, tropical fruits, dank. Okay flavor, caramel, burnt caramel, toffee, mild bitterness and hop presence. Not bad. Laughed that since we were in Florida this was passed around with people saying "not *that* seventh sun."

16iz can the poured a medium brown with light tan head. Aroma is mild to medium malt base with some nose of hops. The flavor comes up short for me for the style. Should have more sweet malt than what it does and there should be a nice warm alcohol burn which there isn’t. Not a bad beer but not a strong ale.

From a tall can. Pours coca-cola color, with a nice tan head. Clear dark amber in color. When I opened the can I was hit with a pungent hop aroma. I was expecting similar taste, but it fell a little short. Initial taste is sweet caramel malts, but quickly goes dry, and very faint citrus, grapefruit flavor. One good thing on the taste is I did not detect much, if any, alcohol. I think this could be a really good beer, but it’s just missing some more flavor. On the fence with this one....I see potential I guess.

Can shared in the hotel lobby, RBWG ’15, night 2 - 20/02/15 thanks to whomever shared this number. Amber with moderate beige edgework. Nose is grapefruit, bitter citric peel, pine, good nose - sweet and pleasant. Taste comprises skunky hop notes, pine needle, grapefruit, orange pith, caramel. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent hopped up American Strong.
