downender (1732), Bristol, Gloucestershire, England May 27, 2008 Cask-conditioned at the Cross Hands, Fishponds, Bristol 26/5/08. Dark brown in colour with a tight, tan head that left plenty of lacing down the glass. Aroma of dark chocolate and coffee with some grassy hops. Flavour had more of the same with some accompanying oak and red fruit, before a long, dry finish. Very drinkable. Comments: Watery from beginning to finish. Otherwise honest burnt toast notes.
