COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Since the first bottle rolled off the production line of Seychelles Breweries Ltd in June 1972, SeyBrew Lager has been the favourite beer of Seychelles. SeyBrew is brewed with the finest malt and hops imported from Europe, Australia and South Africa. SeyBrew is available in 280ml green glass bottles and draught at 4.9% alcohol by volume, which makes it just perfect for quenching your thirst in the warm sunny Seychelles. SeyBrew is an all occasion beer but exceptionally inviting at the end of a day's work. Bottles are available cold at all liquor-licensed stores, whereas Draught is limited to some selective but popular bars. SeyBrew was awarded a Gold Medal in Brussels in 1974 - just two years after its launch. It topped 500 competing beers to scoop that first international award early acclaim which was consolidated by winning a Silver Medal in Geneva in 1978 and a Gold Medal in Amsterdam in 1981.

Clear yellow beer with a frothy white head. Sweet and stinky maize aroma, really bad!! Quite full in the flavor dominated by sweet malt and absolutely no bitterness. Another bad international lager, but thanks Jens (Ungstrup) for this rare country!

It’s golden with a white head and the aroma has notes of malt, vegetables and a touch of citrus. The flavor has a light sweetness and pretty much the same notes + a little cardboard. The finish is slightly dry. Oh well, cold and wet...

280 ml green bottle kindly shared by gunnar. Clear golden with a small, white, creamy head. Herbal, grassy and wet cardboard nose. Watery and bland. Light acidic and light sweet. Light body. Medium carbonation.

Shared bottle ,provided by my beer pal Kai. Pours clear straw colored with a tiny white head. Smells like Heineken, sterile water. light cat piss. Taste is relative fresh, almost crisp hoppy, citrus. Watery mouthfeel, ends rather quick.

Shared 280 ml green bottle. Pale golden colour, low white head. Moderate citrussy / catty aroma, some wet cardboard in the background. The flavour is fairly fresh with a hint of citrus, no doubt drinkable on a beach in the Seychelles, but not interesting anywhere else.

0.28l bottle courtesy of InBreak. Hmm, a lager from the Seychelles? Could go either way this, so here we go: This one pours a clear golden body with a small slowly fading white lager-head. Aroma has pale malts, it’s quite grainy with notes of really wet dog and all in all not very nice. Oily mouthfeeling, average carbonation and light to medium-bodied. Tastes first kinda blend, mild and watery, then it gets really malty in the finish and aftertaste. Drinkable, but not to exciting.

Bottle, shared with Palme and friends. (Thanks to Inbreak (Kai-Sindre) for bringing it home from his honeymoon in the Seychelles! :-)) Pours a classic light yellow pale lager body with a small white head. Nose is skunky grass, pale malts and hints of grain. The skunkiness is nowhere to be found in the taste, however, which is dominated by grainy tones of pale malts, cereals and only mild hints of hops. A pretty standard "international lager", smooth and easy-going but oh so boring.

280 ml bottla as a gift, thanks Bartazo!
Poured pale golden with a small froathy white head that diminishes to a small lacing one. Sourish and dead yeast cells in the bready malt aroma, some grassy hop. Forgettable taste, weak body with some malt, lively carbonation brings the yeast flavor and the grassy hop. Good for thirst quentching, nothing more.

Appearance: Beer pours great, leaving a hodge-podge of different bubble sizes in a pure white, foam lace of a head. Colour is a clear, bright, pale yellow. Smell: Clean and crisp nose, with light fruity, grain, floral and metallic aromas. Delicately aromatic. Taste: A rich malty lager with a pleasant sweetness that is balanced, and complemented, by a mildly limey-like hop bitterness (reminicent of Heineken but smoother and better) plenty of floral hoppiness. Light, complex fruity notes. Crisp, semi-dry, but an overall smooth mouthfeel and a firm body. Tame metallic and fresh bready notes. Finishes just a tad drier with some trace grain and very slight metallic flavours. Notes: I can’t remember a cleaner, fresher tasting session lager I’ve had on holiday.

Bottled 28cl. It pours a pale golden beer with a small head. The nose is sweet with notes of grass, compost, metal and cereals. Sweet malty taste. Low carbonation. Grainy with hints of glue. Grassy. Slightly sour. Not much lacework. Low bitterness. Compost sneaking in. Residual sugars in the finish. Mediocre. Thanks a lot bov for this beer!
