JoeMcPhee (3899), Jackson Heights, New York, USA May 27, 2004 I don’t ordinarily like Shaftebury, but this was okay. Pale golden colour with a faint chill-hazed appearance and a disappearing white head. Pale malty aroma, light floral hoppiness and some bready yeastiness. Flavour is actually pretty good, decent amount of malt and a clean finish. A fairly quaffable summer beer. TimE (1066), Tokyo, Japan Apr 28, 2004 Yellow with hints of honey, wow, please don’t amaze me. I guess it would be Ok in the summer, but I can think of a few more hefes I would rather drink. snowotter (1), USA does not count Oct 13, 2003 Not bad...poured a golden yellow, but the head went south quickly. I agree with Tipsy McStager on this one...very weak palate. Mind you, it IS wet, it IS beer, and it ISN'T American! TipsyMcStager (830), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Jun 9, 2003 stinky, foul aroma. Pours a golden yellow, carbonation high, head mid range. This kind of tastes like a fruit beer, except all the fruit is rotten. Very weak palate and unusual aftertaste. Shaftebury is a brewery you want to avoid except for their cream ale. BeerPrince (1701), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Apr 16, 2003 Golden amber body with a small off white head. Aroma was lightly malty and little else. Taste was sweet but thin. Finish was spicy and not really enjoyable.
