Commercial Description:
Bottle conditioned;
Sharp's has launched a new beer in partnership with Rick Stein. The beer is named "Chalky's Bite" in tribute to Rick's faithful canine friend. Chalky's Bite is a very special beer with a brewing and maturation process of over four months. The beer is triple fermented using both the Sharp's yeast strain and a special Belgian strain and is uniquely flavoured with wild Cornish fennel.

Ooh yes, I liked this one - a delicious little number. Like a cross between a pale ale and a Belgian. Cloudy with a peachy, sweet, dry, bitter taste. Good boy, Chalky! Chalky may be dead, but this beer is very much alive!

Yellow colour. Head crawls down with the beer. Fruity citrusy. Refreshing bottle a bit flowery didn’t quite catch the fennel. Will be back for more though

Bottle@Home. Very fruity aroma with a hint of pine. Dark yellow, some floaties, off-white head, good lace. Sweet, bitter, light fruity, bit bready. Full, dry finish. Nice flavors, ok balance.

Bottle, 6.8%. Hazy golden colour. Lacy white head. Fruity flavour, some dust, a little bread. Vinous aftertaste.

Bottle from Sainsburys Straiton Edinburgh. Deepish gold, thin white head, with a few suspended bits of yeast hanging about in there too. Nicely spiced nose, good body with a nice clean malty palate, ther’s a bit of bitterness on the finish. Good brew...fennel? cant say I picked that out.

Bottle, from my dear mother, Sainsburys Taplow. I think Rick Stein has definitely won the battle of the tv chefs when it comes to beer ! This pisses on fearnley- cottage bloke’s crap nettle effort. Poured a slightly hazy golden with a good lingering creamy white head. . Aroma was sweet with some pine hops and fruit. Fairly lively carbonation. Sweetish, lightly hopped flavour with piney, fruit and hop notes. Quite complex, with good strength. Very refreshing and a really top effort. Would definitely try again...Woof woof !
