Served in a snifter from a 500ml bottle. Pours clear amber with a thin off-white fast diminishing head. Aroma is roasted malts, caramel, bread and red fruits. Taste is caramel, roasted malts, red fruits with a smooth subtle bitter finish. Medium body with medium carbonation. Very smooth and extremely balanced amber ale, would be great as a session ale.

Bottle at family gathering (not my first!). Pours brown amber with thin head. Aroma predominately malty with some sweet caramel. Pretty bland, especially compared to the great deep salty notes that I remember from a cask pint in Cornwall the first time I tried this many years ago.

Pours a clear amber color, topped with a minimal and non-lasting white head. Mild biscuity aroma with a bit of caramel presence. Sweet with caramel notes, finishes with decent bittery feel. Light. Ok.

500ml bottle, pretty expensive beer. redish copper color. Pretty weak flavours. Light caramel malt, light fragrant hops. Moderately carbonated and fairly thin, typical of the style.

Bottle from Morrisons, Croydon (10/04/2016) - amber coloured pour with off-white head. Aroma and taste is toasted and sweet malty, caramel, some butterscotch, very watery, pretty forgettable.

Bottled, 4.3% ABV. Clear amber color with a bit of beige head. Aroma has toasted malts and some earthy hops, not much going on here. Taste has toasted malts, bread crust, a bit of caramel/burnt sugar and a hint of hops on the finish. Not really sweet or bitter, quite watery. Light body with low carbonation. It doesn’t have any off-tastes but it’s really generic and boring overall.
