3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle: Poured a rusty copper brown with a medium creamy head. The aroma was skunk when I popped the top, but at a close sniff I could sense caramel and malts. Taste is a bit bitter as to be expected, had a nice fruit and hops. Pretty well balanced, finished smooth.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a pale brown to deep reddish color, with a small off white head that fades pretty quickly. Smell is mostly caramel malts with a nice smattering of fruity hops, but not enough to be overpowering. Flavor is also very much caramel and sweet roasty malts with a hint of nutines. Hops are citrusy and present, but well balanced. There’s a bit of a spicy hint in the finish. Carbonation is pretty low, but it is rather creamy.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
500 ml bottle. Deep amber beer with athick off-white head. Aroma is slightly earthy and leathery with a lovely husky UK malt base. Slightly skunky but this dissipates fairly rapidly showing off a nice malty base. A soft caramel character and a light toastiness feature prominently. There is also a kiss of something darker like licorice, but this is only a backnote. A soft spicy hop flavour and a bit of nuttiness as well. Crisp earthy bitterness and a soft pithy orangey character. Lingering bitterness with a bit of candied fruit as well. Fairly sweet palate with some brown sugar on the back. Not a bad brew really.
