SHIG (1670), Oberoffligen, Germany Jul 14, 2008 Bottle: Poured a rusty copper brown with a medium creamy head. The aroma was skunk when I popped the top, but at a close sniff I could sense caramel and malts. Taste is a bit bitter as to be expected, had a nice fruit and hops. Pretty well balanced, finished smooth.
Quack-Duck (1978), Bodensee, Germany Sep 1, 2008 Clear copper colour, mid-sized creamy beige head. Intensive aroma of roasetd malt and caramel. Light-bodied, flavours of caramel and roasted malt, caramalty flavours with a shy fruityness in the background as well as some lovely resiny-lemony hop flavours. thewolf (4152), Kolding, Denmark Aug 26, 2008 Bottle, bought @ YNWA, Kolding.<br />
Pours deep brown-orange with a medium, staying, off-white head. Aroma has caramel, good hoppiness, some pine and flowers. A light touch of honey. Medium carbonation, okay mouthfeel. Fair flavour, fine caramel with a good, dry and bitter hoppy finish. Fair beer. CQC (221), Sydney, Australia Aug 17, 2008 very average. Looked dead on arrival. & to be sure it was. True cellar tempture, flat & watery. No distintive anything - but not bad... just very uninteresting. downender (1732), Bristol, Gloucestershire, England May 24, 2008 Bottle from Morrisons. Amber with a decent, frothy off-white head and moderate carbonation. Aroma had plenty of caramel with a whiff of red fruit. Flavour was sweetish with a hint of peppery hops and a short, bitter finish. Ok.
