Tasted 16/4/2013 draught "Stonehenge Inn", Durrington, Wiltshire. Poured a semi-translucent honey brown with a thin white bubble head that retained OK and laced poorly. Aroma of sweet malt and a trace of sweet citrus. Taste of sweet caramel malt but then goes bland before a slightly sweet citrus after-taste. Light body. Slightly sweet citrus finish. Quite nice.

Cask @ Shakespeares Head, Soho, London. This was the one cask on at the restaurant upstairs. I wasn’t allowed to bring beer from the bar downstairs, so I’m not sure how much they have to do with each other. Light hazy amber with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel and light hoppy. Flavor is medium sweet and light bitter. Sweet finish. 240413

Appearance: Clear copper color with a small off white head.
Aroma: Malty, cooked vegetables, yeast and mild fruity.
Palate: Medium light body. Slightly sweet and a low bitterness. Soft carbonation.
Taste: Mild caramel malty, yeast, soap and light fruity.
Overall impression: wtf….very thin and a horrible yeast and soapy taste.
Personal stats: Handpull at National Brewery Centre in Burton-on-Trent, England.

On cask at Sherwood Inn, Rainworth - Amber body, rich and consistent white head. Not overly bitter but with a nice dry finish. Some sweetness in there as well. Okay pint really, surprised I’d not rated this one as I’ve had it loads of times.

Jan 2013 - draught, Putney. Malty, mild bitterness. Above average bitter. Quite nice but doesn’t stand out from other draught beers really.

Fighting Cocks, Moseley. There’s not much there, but what there is stands up ok. Dark and malty. Used to be my ale of choice back in the day so nice to get it rated. Good lunchtime supping.

If you are in a bog standard London pub with a limited selection this is a safe bet, pleasant bitter, nothing to get excited about but inoffensive verging on pleasant.

On cask. Appearance: ruby red, small off white head. Aroma: slightly fruity, a little malt with just a hint of grassy hops. Flavour: dark fruits, sweet with a decent amount of malt running through it. Nothing spectacular but could imagine having quite a few without much effort.
