In a Londin pub strange to ask for a pint of Doom! Red brown beer wih classic English signature - subtle hops, a bit of fruit and buiscity malt. I heard good things about this beer and was not really impressed..

Cask from The Orchard. Clear amber body with a thin beige head. Light lacing. Aroma of brown bread and nuts. Flavour of earth, nuts and caramel. Thin to medium body with an oily texture. Flat carbonation. Very drinkable but dull. Tried only because itís referenced in The Cuckooís Calling.

A typical bitter. Small head on an amber pour, not much of an aroma and a bitter watery taste. Decent beer

[10/1/13] Cask at John Baird in London. Clear nice deep reddish amber. Aroma of earthy and slightly citric hops, some malt, a bit of caramel hints and faint nutty notes. Flavor has a bit of malt sweetness with a hint of caramel, mild toasty notes, light fruitiness, spicy and earthy hops and a finish with moderate bitterness. Quite nice and easy-drinking.

Draft at the Marquis. Pours amber with a white/tan head. Some small bobbles of lace, kind of like spots. Aroma of biscuits, and a faint outside-y smell (canít pin it down). Tastes very lightly sweet, but not really of an awful lot. Very drinkable, and very sessionable at 4%. Excellent beer as a baseline - not remarkable, but doesnít put a foot wrong. I can see why itís popular.

Brown, clear body and grey thin lace. Light malty, biscuit, some caramel. All very mellow. Taste is light bitter, fairly cleanly developed and with a cookie aftertaste. Dry, simple. Nothing special. (Half pint at Half Moon)
