3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cask (St. Urho’s, Helsinki)
Orangy brown, healthy loose head. Grainy aroma. Bold estery taste, light fleshy fruits. An almost salty sour edge too. Refreshing palate, but almost no carbonation at all. A touch of ginger later, and a dark leathery hoppiness, and a touch of horseblanket. Quite potent bitter finish. Good interesting traditional bitter.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Very clear amber colour with only a filmy layer. Aroma of hops and caramel. The flavour starts with a sharp caramel taste turning into honey and ending with nice bitterness. Well rounded (very well kept half pint on cask at The Harp, 18.09.2006).

A Sim Rate (Cask at Planet Thanet): Labelled "Eden Pure Ale". Doesn’t smell of much. Subtle malt and wheat. Tastes bitter at first with slight metal. Bit of orange or tangerine in the finish. Clean and easy-drinking.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle. Copper with a slim fine collar and plenty of lace. Standard clear-bottled pasteurised waft of caramel, hay and vegetables. Flavour marginally better; watery tea, caramel, jellied orange, hay. However, all round, a pretty piss-poor beer to be associated with the Eden Project, unlike the excellent (cask) 6 Hop IPA.
