weeare138 (924), Collegeville, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 5, 2007 Thanks to grassrootsVT for this aged beauty...
I had this right after the Trout River Whitewater for comparison’s sake...phew, what a big difference.
Appears a hazy, light gold with a 2 finger white head that slowly faded out. Scattered streaks of lacing are left around the glass.
Smell is of tart lemon, pineapple, passion fruit, plastic bag funk, and earthy aromas...really addictive.
Taste is of the mentioned aromas with a light, white pepper spice, and coriander coming through in the flavor. This went delightfully well with the sourdough bread, and mixed cheese plate we had.
Mouthfeel is light bodied, citrusy, with orange and lemon grazing the palate towards a dry finish.
More funk beers, please! egajdzis (2929), Terrapin, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 17, 2007 Poured a hazy golden color, with a medium sized, white head, that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of leather, orange peel, brett, tropical fruits, coconut, bubblegum, and chamomile. Taste of more citrus fruits, vanilla, light toffee malts, bread, sweet orange peel, and coriander. Finishes dry, leaving prickly carbonation in the mouth.
