COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An English-style strong ale. This brown ale has great malt depth and drinks like a session beer.

This beer is a legend in Stowe, one of the best ski resort towns in New England, and rightfully so. Dark, sweet and complex in flavor, this is the perfect high-alcohol brew to enjoy after a long day of snow shredding. Some of the flavors donít quite work, but you really canít go wrong with this.

Draft at brewpub. Very mild aroma, some malt. Copper amber body, small off-white head. Flavor is a little spicy, unpleasantly sour, with some malt and hops. A bit of bitter in the finish.

Alldaydrinker (559) - Norwood, Massachusetts, USA - OCT 20, 2008
Draught. Pours a murky brown color with a small off white head. English malt lingers in the aroma, sugar characteristics, plum and fig. Initial taste of spices, dark fruit, caramel and malt sweetness. Mid palate to finish is lightly hoppy and mildly balanced. Head retention and palate are average. Light to medium body. Interesting but not their highlight.

puboflyons (2117) - Allenstown, New Hampshire, USA - OCT 8, 2008
On tap at Arvardís Grille and Pub in Waterbury, Vermont. Pours a dark mahogany-brown with decent beige head and a good amount of lacing. The head fades after 3-4 minutes but the lacing stays with the entire session. Aroma of malts and cocoa. Medium mouth feel. Flavor seems like a mix of hops, buts, and raisins. Dry finish. Decent overall.
