2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: OCT 26, 2012 12oz bottle. Rating #56. Hazy, dark brown pour with a small light brown head. Mild aroma, just picking up a little caramel, but nothing much after that. Mild flavor as well, nothing wrong with it, but I’m not getting a lot of a brown ales characteristics. (2536)

Draft at pony. Pours a deep, deep amber with thin off white lacing. Aroma is sweet dark fruit and spice. Mouthfeel is medium to thin with notes of dark fruit. Nah. No thanks.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Single bottle from Julios. Pours out a deep brown color. Nice frothy head. Good carbonation. Aroma is very malty. Flavor is deep, rich and malty, with a bit of alcohol on the nose. Earthy notes. Better as it warms, of course.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 ounce bottle from Nikki’s, Providence. Pours a hazy reddish brown color with a thin tan head. Below average head retention. Aroma of caramel, toffee and nutty notes. The taste is caramel malts, nutty notes, brown sugar, floral hops. Medium bodied. Very tasty. My first beer from these guys, and it’s a good one!

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Roasted malt and brown sugar on the nose. Deep, murky copper color. Toasty caramel with fruity undertones. Chewy, adhesive feel. Usual American brown ale brewed up to the English ’old ale’ level of starch and booze. Just what is expected from Otter Creek.

3.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
A very good, unique beer. Pours a beautiful dark milky maroon with a thick head. Almost a cross between a stout and red ale. Very thick and creamy, with a little bit of oatmeal stout taste. Had on tap in Vermont.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours brown with almost no head. Aroma is malts, nutty, resinous. Taste is sweet malt, caramel, alcohol. Light body, warming, sticky somewhat funky finish. This was bottle from Otter Creek and not as good as it was at the original Shed in Stowe.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Otter Creek Brewery: Pours a brownish color without much head. Aroma is English-like malts, some fruitiness, sugar, and a few other flavors. Nobody is going to say that this beer does not have a lot of different flavors. Taste is full of it too. This is mostly a malt monster, with a bunch of fruitiness and some sugar. High alcohol well-covered would be nice to session. Apparently the Shed is owned by Otter Creek now...
