Really surprised this is rated so high; what do I know? Aroma of simple (and somewhat sweet) caramel malts and moderate-high citrus hops. Appearance is dark cloudy copper with quickly dissipating white head; the initial pour was very carbonated, but this also go away rather quickly. The flavor reminds me of BBC APA (not quite as highly ranked), which pretty much matches the nose, but has an unpleasant lingering bitterness that coats the tongue. The palate is bubbly and also soft. A bit of a chore to drink.

In short: A mess, moderately hoppy bronze American Strong Ale. Meh.
How: Bottle 12oz. Consumed relatively fresh one month after purchase, bottle forwarded to me by drfabulous, thanks a lot Jeff
The look: Cloudy golden-bronze body topped by a medium beige head with medium retention leaving lots of lacings on the glass
In long: Lacklustre nose of dank hops over sweet barley candy. Taste is muddy, yeasty, tired fruity hops, sweet dirty barley candy lollipop picked up from the floor, cranberries, dirty front lawn grass, iced-tea, tobacco. Sticky resinous finish with concentrate fruit juice after-taste. It is not because I list many flavor elements that this is a complex beer, this is more of a mess that taste many things but has no direction and no purpose. 8% is too high for an IPA, it could be classified a IIPA but even that would be misleading, this is really an American Strong Ale, and not a very good one at that. Kind of reminiscent of CCB 110K batch 4, and that is not a compliment. Not my kind of IPA at all, but at least since the beer release I spent over 4 years without drinking it.
