Sugary glazed chocolate and donuts in the nose, as advertised! Flavor is midly sweet with a bit of a perfumy sweet sugar note and lighter notes of toffee and chocolate. Tastes almost like a glaze at times but it’s a moderate sugariness and not simply a result of overuse of the malt. I have to say the flavor and finish are a bit disappointing, but it’s still a delectable dessert beer and I’ve never anything quite like it.

Chocolate donut beer, yeah right... Nearly black colour with a bit of dark head. Aroma is chocolaty and yeasty. The flavour is truly unique. Lots of chocolate flavour with a donut like finish. Reminds me of an ld fashioned chocolate cake donut with some glaze. Really unique!

Thanks to Michelle for this. This is one of the most unique beers I’ve ever tasted. The body is almost black. The aroma is chocolaty sweet and yeasty, like bread just before putting it in the oven., and also somewhat liquer-ish The flavor is buttery and of course chocolate, which makes this very similar to a chocolate dessert, or in the case of this one, a donut. Pretty amazing stuff.

Smells much like unbaked yeast dough, appears like many other dark beers. The flavor is in between a buttery bucket of movie theatre popcorn and a donut. Very different when compared to any other beer that I have tried.

Aroma: creamy and rich chocolately donut glaze, fried bread goodness with maybe a hint of pudding filling--sort of like a pudding filled chocolate donut
Appearance: dark brown-->black, tan head, lacing
Flavor: light chocolately, slightly buttery taste, with fried bread filled with vanilla pudding flavors and a mild chocolately aftertaste, not as rich as an American style donut nor as savory, but lives up to its name nonetheless
Palate: smooth, creamy, and chocolately
Overall: umm...donut...

1-2-08 bottle shared with lb4lb with a huge thanks to kmweaver!
Black pour with watery tan head. Unique and precise chocolate glazed donut aroma. Very distinct and very strong! Flavor has the chocolate donut there too, but is nothing in comparison to the overwhelming donut smell. Would like a little more depth and a little less cheap waxy chocolate taste - but now I am just being picky. Almost seems to have a waxy plastic-like coating of chocolate that stays on the tongue for a short bit. Tastes rich, but is still relatively thin on the palate. Overall, extra points for the "top-secret" uniqueness!

Pours black with a thick and creamy tan head. Aromas of...chocolate donuts! Similar flavor. Chocolate, caramel, vanilla, and a hint of coffee as well. Dunking a chocolate donut into your coffee and taking a bite would give you about the same flavor as taking a drink of this. Drinkability is low, I couldn’t think of having more than one of these in a week. Still great though and they hit the donut thing spot on.

Big thanks to kmweaver for hooking me up with this beer!!
Pours almost opaque black with a nice sized tan head. Smell is very chocolately donut like and a big in your face ash-like chemically waxy chocolate smell reminiscent of the chocolate donuts you’d get from a vending machine but rolled in ashes. Unique flavor of waxy chemically chocolate probably from the "essence of donut". Not quite sure what to think about this one...Glad I got to try it, and although on first sip I really liked it, after about 1/2 a bottle it was overwhelming and the artificial flavor became off-putting. Somewhat surprised at the high ratings but big points for uniqueness, either way.
