shigadeyo (2210), Harrison, Ohio, USA May 4, 2009 4/25/2009: Shenandoah Chocolate Donut Stout is brown in color with a hint of fruity malt and a weird sweetness. This beer really tastes more like a jelly doughnut rather than a chocolate one! Very disappointing.
Sample from bottle at Dark Lord Day 2009. Rating #100 for this beer.
BgThang (118), Texas, USA Apr 26, 2009 This beer was amazing.
the nose on this thing wow.
Like you just opened a pack of those cheap waxy corner store chocolate gem donuts.
The color was pretty dark, brownish to almost completely black.
the taste was incredible. I wanted a glass of milk to wash the donuts down. If you can not taste the donuts in this then try another bottle.
I would prolly not buy this regularly, but this is a good example to show friends who think beer is your standard american lager the difference and what can be done with beer

BOLTZ7555 (1053), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Mar 16, 2009 Bottle acquired via trade with nimbleprop. THANKS AGAIN ANDREW!!! A lot of Nestle Quik, both in the aroma and definitely in the flavor. Also included are molasses, chocolate, and roasted malt. HUGE 3/4 GLASS head with a 1/4 glass murky caramel body. Fairly thin...not a favorite. BuckeyeBoy (1645), Boise, Idaho, USA Feb 28, 2009 Bottle Thanks Jake Pours out a dark brown topped with a glaze maple bar head. Aroma was of chocolate and some roast. Tast was more chocolate and tons of sweetness. This one lived up to the lable. ditmier (1023), Boise, Idaho, USA Feb 4, 2009 2008 Bottle - Thanks jake65! - pours a thin dk brown with a faint head...aroma is light, dark malt, a bit bready...flavour is similar, I get the chocolate, I get the cake, not a grand brew, a bit thin but who wouldn’t want to drink an alcoholic donut? jkwalking05 (1483), Arlington, Texas, USA Jan 25, 2009 Dark brown in color with a medium sized beige head. Aroma is of a grease vat, peanut oil, and chocolate. Taste is of sweet donut dough, chocolate and peanuts. jake65 (1658), Williston, North Dakota, USA Jan 19, 2009 Bottle: Deep brown pour with a modest tan head. Aroma is sweet and chocolate over a light roasted malt base. Plenty of sweet. Tastes chocolatey sweet with light roast and plenty of sugar. It does seemingly have that frosted donut taste! Quite the novelty (I’d been wanting to try thius ever since I learned of it’s existence) and I must thank nimbleprop for sending this my way.
