redlight (1445), Winter Park, Florida, USA May 10, 2008 thanks to beerlando for this. Smells of chocolate cake donuts with chocolate frosting. Pours dark brown with a thin tan head. The flavor does taste like chocolate donut with a creamy coffee, roasty and sweet flavors. Good beer. riversideAK (2648), Shoreline, Washington, USA May 9, 2008 From glkaiser. Thanks Geoff. Dark brown brew with a nice lasting foamy head. Aroma is pretty chocolatey with a little roast. Sadly I don’t get any donut. Chocolate, roast, a little salt, bread. Interesting chocolate bready notes. There is a nice chocolate essence that lingers. Might be a little thin. Has a smooth carbonation. Very interesting brew that I am glad I got to taste. JMFG (1514), Florida, USA May 9, 2008 Courtesy Beerlando, I think. Very dark brown pour with a moderately thick persistent dark tan head. Vague chocolately aroma, light roast, pound cake. As it warmed, I picked up more of the sweet glaze aroma. Taste is interesting - bready, almost gingerbread-like notes, slight hop finish. Pretty sweet and unique brew. TURDFERGUSON (1594), Carrboro, North Carolina, USA Apr 30, 2008 Gift from wickedpete. Thanks a lot, Pete! Pours dark brown with a tan head. Nose is salty, cake, and a bit of chocolate. Flavor is where this beer goes south for me. Sugary and salty and ugh. Not a fan. Was really hoping to be surprised and like this beer (especially considering the somewhat high ratings it has been receiving), but it just wasn’t for me. Ibrew2or3 (2714), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA Apr 25, 2008 Courtesy of Degarth. Pours dark brown with thin tan head. The aroma is rich roasty malts and chocolate malts mixed with mild toffee and caramel. I also get some burnt malts and vague other notes. Pretty nice thick mouth feel bringing up roasted malts and chocolate malts that are sweetened up with molasses. Into the finish I taste burnt notes, cookies, raisins and prunes. Beerlando (2283), Orlando, Florida, USA Apr 25, 2008 Pours a translucent chocolate brown color with a foamy tan head. Sudsy, droopy legs try their best to cling to the glass. As the brew warms, the nose evolves from a malty, sugary pool of chocolate into the exact, distinct aroma of Dunkin’s glazed chocolate cake donuts! Amazingly, the flavor captures this essence as well. Glazed chocolate donuts dipped in chocolate milk are all that really come to mind. Very lactic and sweet. Medium-full, smooth bodied, and incredibly easy to drink. It is truly incredible how they have captured such a distinct sensory profile. This beer is liquid donut in a bottle, and I love it. WeeHeavySD (2940), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA Apr 12, 2008 12oz via Kmweaver, shared with my girlfriend Cyn. Pours dark brownish with a 1 finger tan head. Nose is really interestingly sweet and chocolatey. Taste is sweet but thin with a choco donut vibe. Overall interesting, not amazing. fishingnet (1045), Brandon, Florida, USA Apr 9, 2008 Bottle courtesy Degarth. Pours a dark brown with a large tan head that fades leaving good lacing. Aroma of coffee, roasted malt, bready malt, and as the beer warms the chocolate donut starts to come through. Taste is coffee, roasted malt, and bready malt with the chocolate being almost non existent. Medium thin mouthfeel with a mild amount of bitterness. Good.
