JohnC (1740), Mission Viejo, California, USA Apr 20, 2008 Thanks to whomever brought this to Dr. Bill’s
corny sweet, I’m sorry, but it reminded me of a malt liquor.
Sammy (3072), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jul 5, 2008 2007 vintage bottle courtesy of Matt7215. Medium brown with a bubbly head and significant lace. Initially a chocolate donut, and then a controlled sourness, with malt and sugar. Good balance, like an old age and not like the sahti. A unique one. matt7215 (562), Cambridge, Ontario, Canada Jul 1, 2008 12 oz bottle from a trade with jjpm74. shared with hyde and sammy. my bottle. pour hazy brown with a lasting tan head. malty fruit aroma with a ton of wood. sweet flavours, mostly ripe fruit, lots of wood in there too, a bit cloying. creamy mouthfeel with the abv present as well. enjoyable in small doses. thanks for the bottle john! Oakes (6853), Miami Beach, Florida, USA May 26, 2008 Muddy light brown. Smells somewhat hot, slightly mapley and a bit muddled. Sweet, mapley and a little hot on the palate. Raisiny middle and a firm alcoholic finish. Quite a bit of muddy yeastiness. Beershine (1214), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Apr 29, 2008 Bottle, special, at Dr. Bill’s. Coffee cake aromas and lovely rich cakey body including rum soaked cake, carrot cake nuttiness, and also some brandy. Very nice. radagast83 (1046), Springfield, Virginia, USA Apr 29, 2008 Bottle. Pours a dark copper/redish almost clear. No head whatsoever. Aroma is that of malts, figs, and berries with heavy notes of vanilla. Flavor is nothing short of fantastic, near perfection sweet, malty, creamy with butterscotch. Extremely smooth, almost like sipping bourbon. Alcohol is pretty well masked.
