COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask: Special: Wetherspoon Spring 2013 Real Ale Festival
This bright, amber-coloured beer has an intense, hoppy aroma. It’s packed with hop flavours and a ruby-red grapefruit character, balanced by a deep, malty backbone, giving a long, lingering finish.

Dark body, small white head. Very smooth aroma, not sticky. The taste is hoppy but balanced and the finish could be a bit smoother or surprising for an ipa.

Beese (2560) - Watford, Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - MAR 25, 2014
Cask at the Moon Under Water (JDW), Watford on 10 April 2013. Poured a clear copper colour with a dense white head. Sweet aroma of strawberry, bubblegum and short-bread biscuit. Initial flavours of pink grapefruit, cake and boiled sweets. Finish was bitter resin, some residual citrus and brown sugar.

Two Cask Pints at Wibbas Down (JDW), Wimbledon, London in Apr 2013 during Spoons Festival - Orange-Amber in colour. Very Hoppy; piney resinous and grassy hops. Fruity; tangy zesty grapefruit and orange citrus. Malty backbone; toasty malts and caramel. Distinct hop bitterness throughout. Long bitter hoppy and dry finish. Liked this a lot. Nice IPA!

On gravity at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol April 2013. Amber with a decent, off-white head. Plenty of citrus fruit, some pine notes, soil cereal malts and a dry finish. Very good.

[Cask at the Hope Tap (JDW), Reading] Amber with a moderate white head. Peach and flowers up front, a sweet juicy, fruity middle, and a mildly bitter grapefruit & pine finish. Sweeter & less hoppy than many IPAs. A very British take on an American IPA, focussing more on balance and drinkability than aggressiveness. The alcohol is well hidden, and it’s tasty and rather moreish. Good stuff.

Cask at Penderel’s Oak, JDW - London. Pours clear, deep gold with a tight, creamy head. Ripe citrus on the nose, some doughy malts, lightly toasted bread. Medium sweet flavor with further doughy bread, ripening orange, some piney bitterness. Medium bodied with fine, creamy carbonation. Lightly sticky finish with hints of alcohol, more orange and pine. Decent.

stravale (2430) - Near Carrick-on-Shannon, IRELAND - APR 20, 2013
Cask @ A G Bell, Edinburgh [090413]
Amber, dense white head, clear, good lacing
Aroma of soft caramel malts, very soft hops, no way a US-style IPA
Taste of soft caramel malts, some bitter hops, soft fruity, alcohol is well hidden, good drinkability
Palate - medium body. Finish of bitterish hops, smooth.
Overall - It’s actually quite a good beer - but it’s really non US
