COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask: Special: Wetherspoon Spring 2013 Real Ale Festival
This bright, amber-coloured beer has an intense, hoppy aroma. It’s packed with hop flavours and a ruby-red grapefruit character, balanced by a deep, malty backbone, giving a long, lingering finish.

Hamilton Hall Spoons. Cask. Clear amber beer, tidy off white head. Palate is light and dry with fine carbonation. Sweetish tangerine and orange hops. Bittersweet light tang. Finishes semi dry with more great tangerine.

Cask at Penderel’s Oak, JDW - London. Pours clear, deep gold with a tight, creamy head. Ripe citrus on the nose, some doughy malts, lightly toasted bread. Medium sweet flavor with further doughy bread, ripening orange, some piney bitterness. Medium bodied with fine, creamy carbonation. Lightly sticky finish with hints of alcohol, more orange and pine. Decent.

Cask conditioned at a Wetherspoons. Amber with white head. Dry, malty beer quite toasty in character. Somewhat bitter and dry, a good thing, with a late perfumed slight hop note, fairly flowery. A reasonable beer, but not an IPA in my mind.

Cask conditioned handpump Eastgate Northampton 05/04/13 A reddish brown coloured beer with a white head and lace. A very hoppy tasty full bodied beer. The malt is on the sweet and jammy side and the hops are big and American bold. It’s really very nice.

DruncanVeasey (7134) - NUNEATON, Top 13, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - APR 18, 2013
The City Arms, Coventry, 17/04/13. Clear bronze with a slender collar appearing pinkish. Aniseed, thistle sap, weak nutty malt nose. Lucozade and grenadine fruitiness; plastic and strawberries in Tupperware; nutty malt backdrop. Honeyed sweetness with a dab of tonic finish. Drinks like a fruity bitter. Alcohol slickness; puff of smoke. OK but no IPA and not as hoppy as the Shep’s New World.

Very nice bitterness indeed.
