Aroma has some sweetness and mild fruit, something like mincemeat. Pours copper to amber, head dissipates very fast and without lacing. Flavour has some caramel, dark fudge and a little bitter chocolate. Good strong but well controlled bitterness, with some lingering floral hints left. The caramel and fudge flavours make the body feel heavier than it actually is. The finish is a gentle bitterness that gives way to the feeling that you had had coffee ten minutes ago.

500ml bottle conditioned. BBE 04-2016. Orchard fruit and yeasty aroma. Nice lacey off white head over clear deep reddish brown ale. Lively and fresh in the mouth. Well balanced fruit and malt flavours with strong tones of grass and pith. Crisp n dry finish. Excellent condition, head returns with a gentle swill. Tiny amount of sediment stuck to base of bottle after pouring. Very nice.

Bottle from Booths in Kirkby Lonsdale. Copper coloured, lightly gassy. Fruity, dry and full bodied. Fair, and one of the better shepherd Neame beers.

Strong malt flavor and aroma with a break from some dusty, herbal hop. Pretty flavorful but that flavor is sort of like an amped up carling, which is really weird. I wouldn’t buy it again even though it isn’t bad. It just has very strange taste movies on my end.

Copper colour with unusual malty pear drop doice nose which follows through to the tongue. Spice and a hot cross bun quality contradts with the dry austere quality.

Cuivrée et limpide, mousse blanche moyenne. Nez malté, caramel, biscuit, houblons épicés. Attaqe légèrement amère, puis malts et caramel, retour de l’amertume finale, agrumes et épices. Bonne carbo, belle rondeur. Bonne bière.
