Cask conditioned handpump Sun Hardingstone 12/02/14. A dark brown coloured beer with a whitish head and lace. A nutty fruity aroma and taste. A decent body. Quite pronounced flavours although not the zesty citrus of the comm desc. Husky malts. Not bad.

Cask @ Hampton inn Hearne bay ! Not bad stuff , it tasted Americanized in vibe somewhat : hops kick it on nicely with pine floral grapefruit flavors. Resemblance to an air freshner in tang , metting Caramel richness that’s there but without textbox shepherd neame carboard malt flavours . A pretty pleasant and refreshing ale .

Cask at the Betsy Trotwood, 08/02/13. Clear amber brown with a thin beige bubbly head that retains well. Nose is caramel, light pine, hops. Taste comprises caramel malt, pine, hops, biscuit. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, some bitterness in the finish. Having had a twiggy mess from the same brewer on my previous drink - I feared the worse! However ... this was a great beer, hopped up bitter meets ESB. Would happily seek this out again!

Hand pulled pint, Basildon Rugby Club, Basildon, Essex, UK. Clear amber colour with a large frothy head, lasting laciness, Mid-white head. Aroma is malty with caramel, medium heavy hoppy, citrus Seville orange to lime, meadow hay, dry hop. taste moderate to sweet and tart with a long bitter finish. Body is medium, texture is clinging, carbonation is negligible. A nice session pint, I could happily quaff this all night.

the colour of this Ale i thought was wonderful. Good taste to it. Good use of hops in the beer, which made it in all a good standard Ale.

Not usually keen on Shephard Neame beers, although I’ve drank many of them. This is excellent well hopped with a great aroma, reminds me a bit of Old Speckled Hen

Cask at The Horniman At Hays, London. Its deep amber with a creamy off white head. Lovely hoppy aroma of grapefruit, peach, pine and caramel. The flavour is peachy, hoppy, citrus and pine. Very lingering and quaffable.

Cask at Charlie’s Bar, Copenhagen. An amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has strong notes of hops, pink grapefruit, and orange peal, as well as medium notes of malt and caramel. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of grapefruit, hops, caramel, butterscotch, and bread, leading to a bitter finish. The body is light.

Cask, Griffin, Carlisle. Think I may have caught a slightly tired example of this. Slightly flat, mid-brown beer, hints of caramel and antisceptic. Tangy on the back of the throat. Will re-rate if I see it again.
