COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle and can: Filtered.
Launched 1958.
Bishops Finger takes its name from the finger-shaped signposts which pointed pilgrims on their way to the tomb of Thomas a Becket in Canterbury and was the first strong ale to be brewed by Shepherd Neame after malt rationing was eased in the late 1950s. It is one of the UK’s oldest bottled beers, brewed since 1958.
Bishops Finger holds EU Protected Geographical Indication, recognising its unique provenance. Uniquely, it is brewed to a charter which states it can only be brewed by the head brewer on a Friday and that it must be brewed using 100% natural ingredients, Kentish hops and barley, and the brewery’s own artesian mineral water.

Aroma of roasty malt, caramel and coffee, notes of fruits. Reddish pale liquid with a fine white head. Medium-high sweetness and light-medium bitterness. Fresh taste of caramel and coffee. Lively carbonation , medium-full body, creamy texture. Very tasteful ale!

Denne Bishops Finger har et klart brunt udseende med et medium hvidt skum. Øllen har en kraftig sød karamel aroma og smager af karamel med noter af kaffe. De to smage spiller godt sammen. Medium karbonering.

Very nice dark brown ale bit of a harsh hops flavour at first but soon mellows ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Et fantastiks navn på en øl. God smag. Tilpas med sødme og bitterhed. Flot rødbrun farve.

500ml bottle. Clear, dark brown/amber colour with a generous smooth off-white head, which unfortunately doesn’t last. Aroma is fruity malt and bitter hops. Flavour is also fruity malt, quite bitter, but also a slight metallic taste to it, otherwise quite nice though not the usual style I’d go for.

Quite nice overall, but with one big issue: it’s too sour - almost like white wine!
