COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle and can: Filtered.
Launched 1958.
Bishops Finger takes its name from the finger-shaped signposts which pointed pilgrims on their way to the tomb of Thomas a Becket in Canterbury and was the first strong ale to be brewed by Shepherd Neame after malt rationing was eased in the late 1950s. It is one of the UK’s oldest bottled beers, brewed since 1958.
Bishops Finger holds EU Protected Geographical Indication, recognising its unique provenance. Uniquely, it is brewed to a charter which states it can only be brewed by the head brewer on a Friday and that it must be brewed using 100% natural ingredients, Kentish hops and barley, and the brewery’s own artesian mineral water.

Clear ligy rubcy olor with brownish bubbly foam head, lacing to glass. Aroma is malty, barley with some light caramel. Nice bitter taste with some sweet sugary taste as well. Aftertaste is turning nice bitter. (Barnsley 201210)

Can. Overall a decent bitter, somewhat more taste but less aroma compared to others in the category.

This is a legendary brew and the aroma is sweet malty with notes of dark fruits and a slight touch of toffee or something like that. The taste follows up on the aroma, but in the aftertaste there’s some herbal touch or spiciness that I really can’t put my finger on. I was a little surprised actually, as I thought that it would be really boring, but it wasn’t. It’s a solid brew

Bottle from Oddbins. Appearance - amber and very bright. Nice head. Nose - caramel biscuits with ginger. Taste - more ginger biscuits with toffee all over them. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy texture and a fairly decent finish, though I think it could handle being a touch more bitter. Overall - not bad, but could do with some more biscuit and hops bitterness on the finish.

Brown/Reddish beer with a frothy head, and a well carbonated appearance. The beer has the English style hopped aroma and flavor, but with this beer it is not too extreme which is why the beer flows smoothly and is overall a very pleasant drink.

Bottle. Pours clear dark amber with tiny head. Aroma is mostly malty, nutty and caramel with some flowery/grassy hop notes. Creamy mouthfeel and balanced bitteress.

Bottle of 50 cl. A nice aroma of roasted malt, with a lil bit of caramel in, reinforced with great amber orange colour. Little, light head. For the taste, we’re in front of a nice challenger, with a heavy bitter-sweet taste, which is followed by a nice, smoky palate. Great beer, go try it ! and Cheers !

0,5l pullo@ Viking Gabriella. Kirkas meripihkan ruskea, kellertävä vaahto. Tuoksussa maalaisohraleipää, pehmeää paahteisuutta ja karamellia. Maussa mallasta ja vähän rautaa. Kiva katkeruus. Vähän vetinen.

500ml bottle served in a pint glass. A: Pours a clear and beautiful copper color forming a medium and thin bubbled beige head. Medium retention and lots of lingering and molasses lacings left in the glass S: Strong notes of caramel followed by citrus and flowery hops. Toffee and roasted malts. Fruity notes, a combination of grapefruit and grapes. Sweet bread and grass T: Slightly sweet upfront. Caramel and crystal malts followed by pleasant moderate hops bitterness. Strong notes of toffee. Citrus and grassy hops profile. Notes of grapefruit and red grapes. Finished by a dry and grassy bitterness M: Light to medium body. Medium carbonation. Caramel bittersweet aftertaste O: Very drinkable. Very pleasant and easydrinking British Ale [ BA Review @ 7/3/2014 ]

Flasche von Bierlieb, Berlin. - Dunkles Kupferrot, klar.
