Bottle. Golden brown with an off white foam. Aromas are sudsy with earthy apple and grain. Dusty lemon with light black tea. Flavours are sweet grain with lemon and soap. Light honeyed sweetness with a cardboard finish. Not brilliant. Another throwback.

small frothy white head. fair lacing. mostly diminishing. clear thick light brownish-yellow body. aroma: grass, moderate hoppy, metal, tea. if: light sweet moderate bitter. ff: moderate sweet bitter; long duration. palate: medium body, watery/oily texture, lively carbonation, metallic finish.

2.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
500ml dark brown bottle from Tesco. Filtered. Retro label, and apparently based on an old recipe, but updated with modern ingredients such as Cascade hops. The result is a rather watery beer for 5.6% abv. Very soft biscuit malt with faint barley sugar flavours and a mild honey sweetness. Gentle hop bitterness with some citric and fruit awareness. A rather thin and lifeless British bottled beer. Unremarkable and rather dull. Characterless, but inoffensive and drinkable.

Huge disappointment frim Shepherd that usually makes beer just right for my taste buds. Pale, simple and uninteresting.
