Svesse (1499), Hässelby, Sweden May 18, 2008 (Bottle) Amber colour with frothy, beige head. Fruity nose with citrus (Seville orange, mandarin), dried apricots, toffee and hints of spices and fresh ginger. Fruity, malty taste with Seville orange, dried apricots, spices and sweetish hints of strong wine (Madeira?). Balanced notes of earthy, citrussy hops in the finish. Slightly above medium body, rather sweet with some alcohol shining through. Tasty and warming (even on a cold spring evening). TBone (4841), Pori, Finland Mar 23, 2008 Bottled
I already had drinked several bottles of this stuff, before I noticed on March that this has separate entry on RB. Well, fortunately my local (Beer Hunters) still has this available. It has copper brown color, small to average off-white head. Nose is alcoholic, nutty-woody hoppy nose. Bitterish, a bit fruity, alcoholic with typical SN’s nutty hoppyness. Too alcoholic for being enjoyable. Storm (2677), Amager, Denmark Mar 20, 2008 Bottle. Clear amber colour with a little head. Aroma of sweetness, tropical fruit and alcohol. Flavour of malt, spices, and a little alcohol. Ends up sweet and fruity. johndoughty (1565), cheslyn hay, West Midlands, England Mar 15, 2008 Bottle. Amber and very clear. some fruitiness and surprisingly bland considering its strength. Not an outstanding Christmas ale but still quite reasonable.
