There’s a spicy signature to this incredibly complex cockle-warming winter ale. The nose is reminiscent of raisins, dates and molasses while the palate is vinous with tannin-like notes of leather, vanilla, apricots and a hint of rustic Armagnac on the finish. An awesome after-dinner drop.

Deep orange copper, bright as bright and pasteurised/filtered to give the awkward in glass leanness of water. Head is little more than a wafer of white with little legs. Nose is weirdly wedged between offerings of mace and nutmeg, peppery spice, twiggy bark, spiced Biltong and medicinal phenols that tickle the olfactories. Ugh, just plain ugh! Phenolic, medicinal, plastic and burnt plastic notes, Band-aid, chlorine and all manner of nasties. Thin, low in carbonation but just undrinkable. Off-putting; nothing pleasant to say!!! Bottle, Embrun LCBO. Clear copper, frothy white head - looks good. Fruity aroma, a bit of that pasteurized British Ale tea like character as well. Fruity to start in the taste, lots of pleasant malt sweetness after that and then a big alcohol kick at the end - almost liquor like - that is out of balance from the rest. The body is medium to light and a bit watery. Pleasant sipper really, I just think they took the winter warmer part a bit too far and it leaves the beer unbalanced a bit. Decent stuff though.

Flaska från systembolaget. Bärnstensfärgad med smutsvitt skum. Doft av kavring och örter. Smått sträv smak. Lite torr i truten. Besk med örter och fikon

I really love the fact that Hrabren rated this one before me (cheers mate!). :D As he said. Drunk on a tram station, waiting for a night bus. We bothered to get a clear plastic glass for the appearance rating, so that’s completely pro FFS. Fucking expensive, 4 Euros for 0.5l or something like that, supposedly on a sale. Right. Had to chose between this and Rocking Rudolph, got this. Probably a good choice. It poured a slightly darker amber-brown body with a slightly off white head, thick and relatively big. Aroma... ummm... vague smoked meat, malty, vaguely nutty, sweetish, slightly strange. Taste... dried apricots, sweetish, vague orange perhaps, malty overall. Some mild bitterness in the finish. Not unpleasant really, but beers at that price are supposed to be much more thrilling in my opinion... In any case, you can do much worse than this. Still overpriced though.

0.5 bottle from Konzum, shared it with a dear friend (thanks, Marko). Drank from a plastic cup on a tram station, like the real men do. Pours light amber with a very strong almost white head. Spicy aroma. Some smoke, dried fruits, plum and raisins. Honey and biscuits. Alcohol notes, dried fruit sweetness. You can feel it?s strength, nice sweet finish. I?m drunk, but I can?t say it?s bad.

Ikke megen aroma. Lidt bitter og passer bedst til lidt fed, salt mad. Meget maltet og ikke særlig juleagtig. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
