There’s a spicy signature to this incredibly complex cockle-warming winter ale. The nose is reminiscent of raisins, dates and molasses while the palate is vinous with tannin-like notes of leather, vanilla, apricots and a hint of rustic Armagnac on the finish. An awesome after-dinner drop.

(Bottle). Fruity aroma with hints of malt, grassy hops and spices. Taste of caramel malt, butterscotch and vanilla with sour and dry bitterness in the finish, prominent taste of alcohol. The scent is okay but the taste is miserable!

Raw hoppy nose. Nice copper colour, very little white head, fainting rather quickly. Wonderful taste ... Malty, spicy and .. rich. Brew is well balanced, malty and hoppy lingers the mouth after swollowing. Very nice brew.

A great version of the streamline ale, hoppy and fruity, with a interesting strength and a longing sour aftertaste

Det här var en rätt juste sak med en kraftfull smak som bar toner av malt, råsocker och dov fruktighet. Kroppen var stabil och balansen närvarande.

500ml bottle on the Rotterdam-Hull ferry. Quite a strong boozy taste to this with plenty of spices jumping out in front of a solid sweet maltiness.

Bottle at home courtesy of the brewery. Pale amber Brown with fluffy offwhite head and caramel, slightly oxidized papery nose. Full bodied, medium carbonation, sweet malt, jammy plums, a bit thin astringent cardboardy, digestive malt finish.

UPDATED: NOV 12, 2014 500ml brown bottle with a label picturing Christmas decorations, poured into a snifter glass. Appearance is clear deep amber with a medium sized beige head. Aroma of apricots and orange peels. Flavours of dried apricots, honey, caramel and spices. Taste is light-medium sweet and medium bitter. Palate is light-medium bodied, smooth texture and average carbonation. For a Christmas Ale the beer is lacking spices, but it’s a decent maybe a bit too sweet English Strong Ale.

Bottle from LCBO. Nice amber beer with a quickly fading head. Vague fruity aroma, with a flavour that provides a little spice with a malty base. Nice but not exceptional. Nice carbonation but a little weak on the palate.
