There’s a spicy signature to this incredibly complex cockle-warming winter ale. The nose is reminiscent of raisins, dates and molasses while the palate is vinous with tannin-like notes of leather, vanilla, apricots and a hint of rustic Armagnac on the finish. An awesome after-dinner drop.

Bottle, amber colour, nice malty aroma, no head to speak of. Fruity and full flavour to start with, quite vinous, nice level of bitterness, strengh is well hidden. Good showing from Shepherd Neame!

Amber color, medium sized white head. Fruity aroma. Balanced sweetness and bitterness. Full body. Some alcohol in taste. OK but nothing too special.

Kopparfärgad öl med ett smutsvitt skum. Karamell, torkade frukter och kryddiga toner i doft och smak.

Pours clear amber color with medium white head. Smell is malts, yeast, caramel and a bit of hops. Medium to full body with soft but prickly carbonation. Slightly oily texture. Taste is mostly bitter with notes of sweetness to it, which is nice, but in this style I’d actually prefer it the other way around. Aroma of malts, caramel, bread, toffee. Slightly spicy with notes of ginger and cinnamon. Really nice and complex. Finish is dry and bitter with obvious presence of alcohol burn. Overall, nicely balanced seasonal beer.

Last of the Christmas beers my brother bought for me - thanks Rob. Looks like a strong English ale should - clear, dark amber with a dash of white head. Medium body and just carbonated enough. Smells like a good dark Christmas cake. Plenty in the flavour - sultanas, prunes, molasses, slight pepper and some dried apricot.

Bottle 0,50L. Clear amber color without any visible carbonation and small, long lasting, creamy, light brown head. Aroma of dried fruits and caramel with a touch of cinnamon. Taste starts light to medium sweet with caramel and almond, but at the end it gets bitter with a touch of ginger. Medium to full body, oily texture and soft carbonation. It warms up a little...

Botella.

500 ml bottle split with my dad. Dark brownish pour with a frothy head. Notes of crackers, malty sweet, caramel, prunes and some light bitterness.
