3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
I must say that the description above is very precise. The aroma has dark chocolate, some espresso and a touch of grape bubblegum. The flavour is pure roasts, with plenty of coffee, but not enough to turn me off. Bitter and dry, it is felt on the palate, a grainy, sandy, chalky texture. Great example of a dry stout.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottled. Picked this up on a whim, very impressed, nice creamy pour, held the tan head til halfway down the glass, definite hits of coffee/chocolate/roast, some dark fruits too. Maybe oak or wood? Thin mouthfeel, but rich all the same. Alcohol on the nose along with a bit of liquorice. Happy :)

Bottle. Pours a dark brown/black with a tan head. Nice roasty coffee choc aroma. Medium body, mild carbonation. Slightly watery. Nice balance of coffee, choc, nutty and sweet toffee flavours with a decent dry bitterness to finish. OK.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle @ Croydonia Tasting. This smells like a Leighton contribution. The pour’s brown with a small head. The nose is burnt brown bread. A bit of cocoa. Mildly yeasty. The taste is cocoa, roasted nuts. Pear. Fairly sedate but not unpleasant. Light body, fine carbonation. Overall, solid enough. Not bad.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottled 11/08/13. A black beer with an off-white head. A dry and burnt malt aroma with a bit of veg. Burnt malts in the mouth too with chocolate and coffee. High bitterness. It’s OK but too sry and burnt for me.
