500ml dark bottle from Morrisons. Retro label. I do like the retro beers that some of the older breweries are doing. They are not authentic recreations - these are older recipes brewed on modern equipment, with modern ingredients and yeasts, and in a modern style, but I like the idea. This, of course, doesn’t taste any different from any modern stout brewed at around this strength. The thing with stouts is that like espresso coffee, the ingredients and recipe tend to make beers that don’t leave much room for individuality or character. This is a typical roasted malts dark beer. All the flavours and mouthfeel that you’d expect are here - like drinking raspberry jam on burnt toast. Lovely.

In bottiglia. Colore marrone scuro, schiuma ben presente, marrone e fine. Piacevole sorpresa

Aroma: rum, coffee, bitter chocolate, dried fruits. Appearance: nice dark brown color, beige head. Taste: medium herbal bitterness, bitter chocolate, roasted malts, coffee substitute, heather, dry. Palate: medium body and medium carbonation, herbal finish. Overall: Really good aroma, but taste is really average. It’s a pity.

Flasche 50cl.

0,5L bottle nice black colored beer. Tan head disappears soon. Aroma liqourish, bitter, burning tyres. Some interesting bitter taste what i can’t remember at the moment, but it’s similar to strong esspresso, also dark bread, bitter chocolate. Some notes of water but it dosen’t disturb at all. Medium body and carbonisation is okey. when it warms up it goes sweeter. In my oppinion 0.33L bottle would make it more better.

Flasche (50 cl) von Bierlieb, Berlin. - Pechschwarz, sortentypisch bescheidene Schaumbildung.

Bottle. Pours dark brown with a small tan head. The aroma is roasted malt, milk chocolate, herbs. The flavour is bitter roasted malt, cocoa, a dry and bitter chocolate finish. Creamy texture, lively carbonation.

Bottle. Pours a very dark brown beer with a medium sized, tanned head on top. Aroma of chocolate, light roasty characters, coffee and molasses. Flavor is medium bitter, loads of coffee again with bitter chocolate touches. Nice, full bodied stout with a great drinkablitly and a nice easy going mouthfeel. Light bitter aftertaste. Very nice!
