Cask conditioned; Summer
This dainty, well-defined dark-blonde drop melds citrusy hops with the nutty, wholemeal character of crystal and pale malt. With ripe fruit, a hint of banana, mango and a tangy, fresh finish.

Appearance is golden, clear, a small white head which quickly disappears. 3. Aroma- fruity, lemons, citrus, malt hints. Taste is fresh fruit, very lemony, underlying hop bitterness. Ok.

Cask (Westminster Arms, Westminster) - Light copper in colour. Sultanas, biscuity malt and a hint of lemon in the aroma. Moderately fruity and malty taste with notes of sultanas, raisins and citrus.

Cask @ Mabels Tavern as Summer Solstice. Quite messy maltiness. Flowery herbal hoppiness. Low carbonation. Nah.

Bottiglia a casa. Schiuma rodata presente e abbondante. Colore ambrato chiaro limpida. Aroma solo di maltato. Gusto poco intenso e poco persistente. Amaro finale esagerato. Watery ma non equilibrata.

Rating from 2010. My bottle had 4.5%. Goldrote Farbe, zitronig-hopfiger Geruch.

All in all, it’s an ok summer ale has that same old Shepherd Neame ’twang’ taste, there’s better local ales out there, Festive Ale from Gadds being one! It pours well, with a one finger head with aromas hitting the nose before the smell test. The nose is roasty with bready, citrus and banana types pulling through. Could buy it again as a last resort 5/10

Cask handpull at King’s Head Shadoxhurst. Clear copper amber colour lasting thin white head. Shepherd Neame yeast and malt aroma. Ok in mouthfeel. But the flavour isn’t good. It’s just poor.
