COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle: Filtered.
Hailing from the tradition of 18th Century IPAs, which relied on generous hopping to protect exports during arduous journeys, this modern incarnation retains the strength, body and strong hop character which is synonymous with this beerís provenance.

A glorious showcase of the distinct, heavily hopped beers for which Shepherd Neame is famed, India Pale Ale delivers potent bitterness, offset with generous amounts of pale ale malt to deliver a balanced, yet uncompromising brew.

500ml bottle present. Light chestnut brown, good head. Grain malt aroma. Dry grain caramel malt flavour. Bitter aftertaste. I donít normally like this style of beer but this one is OK.

Transparent red gold, strong white head. Hoppy, spicy aroma. Caramel, toffee, bitter notes - but not quite IPA bitter to my taste. Good, though. Nice spicy caramel finish. I could do with another.

To my taste this is a quite basic IPA. Not special in any way, but not bad either. Would hope for some "twist" in the taste.

TET (1623) - FINLAND - AUG 26, 2014
A dark brown beer, a head is medium and blond. The nose has caramell, some wood, berries. Basic brittish. Taste has caramell malts, some wood and fruits, medium bitterness that dries the taste almost dry. Medium bodied, surprisingly also some alcohol. This beer is filled up with basic brittish nuancees, but nicely fresh.

Very mild smell of hop. Copper colour, white head. Aroma of hop, plastic. Medium bitter, flat carbon. Oily texture.

Flensburger (4) - Hamburg, Hamburg, GERMANY - AUG 19, 2014 does not count
A classic India Pale Ale: amber in colour, really strong and malty aroma. intensively bitter at the same time, the bitterness offers some hints of citrus and pine. Long lasting finish! Still it comes well-balanced.

Fruits, caramel and some floral hops in the aroma. Amber with a white head. Medium sweet and medium bitter. Medium body with a soft carbonation. Overall a nice English Strong Ale.

Pours amber with a small, light tan head. Light hoppy aroma with some pine notes. Taste is bitter but not too overpowering, other than that itís somewhat weak. Mouthfeel is soft, slight carbonation. It lacks a bit as both an IPA and an ale, and as a combination of the two itís not too impressive. Alright for sure, but nothing to write home about. For the price (3,5eur a bottle) Iíd say itís not worth it.

Case (239) - GERMANY - AUG 2, 2014
Pours clear copper with almost no head. Aroma is faint malt. Taste is caramel with a bit of bitterness towards the end. Watery, bit metallic. Yuck.
